'94 short wheel base 2wd street/race truck build

Sorry I'm not great at updating a lot..my build thread isnt as good a read as yours :hehe: I've been busy with work but making steady progress. Got lexan rear and side windows in, got datalogger working, driveshaft hoop done. Had to reinforce my fiberglass fenders with little pieces of aluminum because they were cracking where they bolt up. Odds and ends like that. I'm shooting to make a pass March 24th. I actually tried to enter the truck in hot rod drag week 2019. Logged in as soon as the application opened at noon, was done at 12:06 and it was already sold out. 400 spots sold out in 4 minutes! I'd still like to do another race and drive event. We'll see what I can find.
 
Took the truck for a 22 mile street drive and logged some test pulls. got a feel for how it handled. Big improvement in steering and traction. Brakes without the booster are no problem, My only concern is holding it for a strong launch. Will have to do more testing on that. I am glad i ditched the power steering, manual r+p is easy even sitting still. Weighed the truck without driver it is 4800#. With driver it had 52% front and 48% rear weight distribution. Still have to put the bumper on and change fuel pump. Planning to hit the track end of this month.

Look close and you can see how far the engine is set back. I'm ready to see it hanging a wheel for about 40ft.
 
Yo Vinnie, you can take those front rotors, have the pattern redrilled for the Chevy bolt pattern and utilize some lightweight skinnies up front.

I have that done on a rat rod project that was once a 96 2wd P/S I was building and changed it up to converting one of my 46 dodge trucks.

I'm not familiar with what bolt patterns have best availability for skinnies. What's the Chevy bolt pattern? 5 on ?
 
Oh man. Had this done long time ago. I " think " it was 5 on 4 3/4" pattern?

What did you do about the bolt pattern on the hubs? I'm not looking at it right now but it doesn't seem like there would be enough metal there how to drill five more holes.

You can see rotor in pics I posted, shows the empty dodge 2wd bolt pattern holes not used. Plenty of meat for second set of holes. That front stub is a 96 2wd front stub, 1/2 ton (gasser) spindles, and rotors with dodge 5 lug, redrilled to Chevy bolt pattern. Wheels throw on there like nothing doing. Lol. Tubular lower control arms and speed holes done in stock dodge uppers. I do have tubular uppers but I am certain the uppers with lightening mods are less weight. (Never bothered to verify on scale. )
 
Not to answer for him, but he's busy assessing the damage, ha

He was running a sxe362 over a sxe488. He knew the secondary was way to small for a healthy 13mm pump but wanted to get a test run in after all his chassie updates, and already had the charger.

He dynod at 680 with it and the pump cut back to 500cc's and it seemed happy. Whole different truck under a load.

He's more than likely going to a t4 manifold and a s400 secondary. Truck is also driven on the street, so still needs to spool reasonable.

The 362's turbine and bearings seem fine. Looks like you could replace the exhaust housing and use it again. Crazy also the 488 had no damage.
