My 06 had descent size twins making 75psi and it never broke. Sled pulling or drag racing might be a different story

Mine has held 90 lbs. just fine. You will have no problem running 55 lbs.

mine exploded at about 51 psi. Not sure what made it happen, because it has seen 62 with no problems.

With a few wraps of duct tape, it'll probably hold just fine.....

Duct tape makes everything better!

Click the image to open in full size.

Holding 75 psi for several 1/4 mile passes.....

I think a hard plastic tube would be easier to wrap/reinforce with duct tape than a silicone angled boot.

The rubber silicone boots I can see how it limits movement. However on the plastic much movement can cause it to crack.

While thinking of that, why not just fiberglass over the thing a few layers?

Fiberglass over the plastic tube actually sounds like a really good idea. It would look better than silver duct tape and definitely reinforce it.

Don't use it on the drag truck, it wouldn't look right.

Yea I just got to thinking of the duct tape fibers will allow the plastic to flex some and probably crack. Thought of glass resin to hold it in place and poof.

I dont think its the pressure as much as the heat. I dont think it can take high intake air temp. Mine never broke but it warped all to crap like you held a heat gun on it
