Cause of heavy black smoke at all rpms?

Truck is an 09 that is deleted.
Last night when going to a pull we were pulling up a hill and noticed a lot of black smoke. We didn't notice a decrease in power just a lot of smoke. Pulled over and the truck barely idles with a lot of black smoke even at idle. No check engine lights, factory gauges all look ok (no aftermarket gauges), turbo felt ok. Checked the butterfly valve in the intake and it moved freely and was open. We haven't looked at it much ut as we just got everything home about midnight. Anyone else had something similar. I searched around and didn't find much. Thanks

Black smoke at idle? Almost has to be fuel related. Injector failed most likely. If you have a way to do a cylinder cut out, I'd start there.
