New truck deletes?

Hello I just bought a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Laramie with automatic transmission last week. I am trying to put a tuner on the truck for better gas mileage. It looks to have a EGR delete on it already and a straight 4 inch piece of pipe where the DPF was? There is plugs zipped tied all on the passenger side of the frame & Crossover tube is gone plates are on manifold and intake side. But the EGR motor actuator is still plugged in and zipped tied up. I have no check engine codes and I am wondering if I will be able to just add a H&S tuner and be good does anyone know?

Just get an efi live tune and flash over.

Will I be able to buy a H&S and install it on the truck if a smarty was installed on it? I am not wanting EFI live just yet. Also I am wanting to tune the tranny with H&S.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say yes. What you described is how my truck is done and I'm running an H&S with OD tuning. All my plugs underneath are just taped closed with no plugs in them. Mine is an '09.

For the record....it won't help your 'gas' mileage.

I would never run H&S. Every 6.7 truck we've ever had in our shop with a blown head gasket has an H&S. Just get yourself an EFI Live tune from someone reputable (we use HPP exclusively) and flash over whatever's in there now. You wont regret it. Get the trans tuning too if you have a 68rfe. You can get it on an Autocal (which is basically a little device that holds the tune and connects to your computer if you ever need to update tuning) or if you know someone with a FlashScan they can install it for you.

If people wouldn't add a crap load of timing onto a crap load of fuel, you would probably not be seeing blown head gaskets and dropped valve seats.
Not to mention bringing the boost up so damned fast.

Some ECM tuners are like apes with screwdrivers and a P-7100.

Mark.

My understanding is the 'Stock' power level was written with really high timing, so if you leave it on any of the other three settings you should be good.

I leave mine on 'Street' and have APR2000's. No problems at 175k.

I wouldn't mind EFI Live, but you can find a MiniMaxx for ~$400. It's a good bang for your buck and relatively safe.

I have a Mini Maxx, but it's not updated to the most latest greatest last update and I cannot find the file to do so anywhere. It's been ~ 5 years since H&S' last update was done.

So, to most, an H&S tuner is just a paper weight that'll create a base file for EFILive to do deletes.
If you're lucky.

Mark.

I run efi live currently and its great. Would never down efi live. But every cummins i delete anymore. I try to push the mm3. Its full custom tuning and can do trans tuning. And you have gauges. Ya price is a little more but you have custom tuning and gauges for one purchase

Had someone ask me about it a while back, but he didn't want it because it wasn't a later version, for transmission tuning, I guess?

Mark, I'm pretty sure I've got the latest files. I've been happy with them. And I like the OD Trans Tuning other than one hiccup I found. When ambient is below freezing, it'll do a jerk on occasion on really light throttle.

What's wrong with the newer software? Mind PMing me if it's a secret?
