05 randomly dies and and won't go above 2k

Ok guys searched and really couldn't find anything. A guy at work bought a 05 CR auto and is having trouble. It died after he took off from a stoplight and had to sit for a bit before it would startup again. Then going home he floored it to pass someone and it kicked down to 3rd and hit 2k and and stayed there and didn't gain speed either. Then today it died on him 4 times coming to work. He has no codes and no gauges. It has a new fca on it and I checked the rail sensor and fca plugs and they were clean. Any help guys would be appreciated.

I'd look at supply pressure first

12ga black wire. Driver battery ground. Make sure its cleaned and tightened. Happens a lot when people swap Batts and for some reason loosing that instead of the terminal.
