I purchased the 52 on here or cummins forum set up for a second gen. It has a vband outlet the bolts up to stock second gen piping and the downpipe flange was turned down to accept hx40 downpipe.
When I got under the truck today I pulled down in the hard line I to the aux cooler with the quick connect and it was already out. So that's the cause of the leak. I installed a pair if 1/4npt to 1/2barb fittings in trans and used -8pushlock hose to run to front cooler. I ditched the aux cooler and temp sensor. I also installed a new filter and was unable to adjust the bands because my tq wrench starts at 10ft lbs.
12qts of dex3 later it was full and I took it for a spin. So far so good. Can't test the shifts under load because wheel spin. If I rev out 3rd to 3500 and throw od it hooks and shifts correctly. I plan on pressure cleaning the undercarriage tomorrow and doing some more driving around and check for leaks. I would like to do a pass in od to check peak boost also since I slid the afc back. I thought about throwing the slicks on and Making some test passes but I don't want to kill the trans without a decent timeslip. When the trans does let go I am going to park it for a bit since I have spent a lot recently with the hg and now the trans leak.

Have you driven the hx52 on the street much? How does it run with the 5x016 injectors?

I have no experience tuning a 12v other than this truck. I put a 160gov spring into the afc and had to trim a coil to get it to full fuel at about 58psi of boost. Down low the spring doesn't have tension till about 10psi so this is noticeable on the street. I have to accelerate slow to avoid pissing other drivers off. And when this acceleration I can barely pull out in front of traffic in time when turning onto a busy road. I drive slow normally too and I still find it difficult to keep smoke low. Also I stay out of o.d. Unless I'm going 55+ on the highway because it's smokier in o.d. I may try an aftermarket afc spring that has tension down low because now I essentially have no afc below 10psi.

You need a spring that will control fuel from 0 to 15 psi, that's where most of your driving is. A long spring with smaller diameter wire so you don't get coil bind.

Any modification to the front end? I see you removed a few leafs just wondering if you did anything up front!

Not yet, I may cut a coil and see how it does. I would also like to do longer shackles in the rear to get it about 1" lower.

I know on cars the remove the sway bar for the back end to plant better. I was wondering about that maybe?

Do not cut a coil! It will lessen the front end travel and lessen the upward force of the front end

this; for those who don't know, removing coils increases spring rate (less material left to deflect)

I would think they would be soft and spongy. I know the 1500 springs in my 1/2 ton were.

how would you define soft and spongy... like "works at the track, deal with it on the street"?
Or rides like Uncle Buck's car?

^I'm actually considering doing this and reporting back.... that ****er is probably the #1 biggest weight drop on the front end of a 2wd without hacking the truck apart

I'm just comparing it to the race cars. I know they ditch them so the back end plants better with the front end having potential of lifting higher.
