CR head on 24valve

Whats the advantage of running a cr head on a 24valve. Is there enough flow gained out of a cr head to make it worth while to buy the lines, and what ever else is need to do the swap??????

I heard hamilton is doing this on jared's truck and has apparently done it a few times on different trucks. I can't figure out why though.

Any numbers showing the differences? I know the valve seats aren't any less prone to dropping like they are on a 2nd gen.

If you remove the valves from both heads and look at the bowls you can see a big difference..... The CR head looks about like what most call a stage 1 port job. I have never had a stock CR head flowed but from what I can see it will be quite a bit better than a stock 24v head.

Turbo's on stock CR do spool significantly sooner than 2nd gen 24v. I know fuel and other things can also contribue to this but the head does seem to flow better.
If your going to dig down this deep, wouldn't it also be better to run CR pistons.....? I guess if you come to think about it, you might as well swap the whole motor.

Well what if you were to just put money into working over a 2nd gen 24V head?

Can anyone think of a problem with sensors: are the map sensor volages the same on a 02' as say a 06' can you just get a adaptor harness or is the hole in the head for the map sensor to the rear like a VP truck?

In my eyes buy the time you buy a cr head and buy the lines then get all the sensor to fit. Your better off just spending the money on getting a 24 valve head ported.

I just dont see how you could gain enought out of a cr head on a 24 valve to actually gain enought hp to justify the cost of doing it.

well when you are after highest possible numbers out of an VP every little bit helps. its a fact that the CR head is a much better design. the bowls are way better in the CR.
