Any experience with 67/67/12 hx35

I'm looking into getting what sounds like a neat turbo but wanted to hear some feed back from anybody running one. Its a tow rig more than a t so I'm looking for reliability. For fuel I'm running some slightly modified 5x12, rack cap, 181, 4gsk, modified AFC, stock/new lift pump, fuel heater deleted, 35 psi fuel pressure and other supporting mods. Trans does have a tight convertor with stall at 1400 or so. It's also regeared with 4.10s and sitting on 33s. I'm leaning into this or super b special. Thoughts??? Don't really care about final horsepower but in want to throw as much fuel at it and not worry about egt.

Call Zach Taylor at North American turbo and get your hx35 modified much cheaper than a bd turbo.

Holset already puts a 67mm inducer compressor and 67mm turbine on the same shaft. The HE400 series on every CM2250 and CM2350 ISX15 on the road...in a 15 liter application....spinning its guts out.

Correct me if I’m wrong ( we no longer have our turbo shop for me to pull info from ) but the he400 doesn’t share the same shaft as a hx35, plus the choke point of the 35 is reached at a 60mm wheel.

HX40s (NonSuper) are noted for breaking the shafts and I've had more than a few HX35s and WH1Cs with broken shafts over the years.
I even have 2 or 3 341/351CWs with snapped shafts.
And these were all stock apps.

Sounds sketchy to me, too.

Mark.

Longer shaft but same exact diameter.

Zfaylor you think this turbo will be a decent upgrade to a phatshaft 62? Or would you honestly go another route?

If it is the 62/68 S300 "phatshaft" I would stick with what you have bud. Those drive extremely well with the mods that you have. If it is the 71mm turbine or the 74mm turbine then it would be an upgrade in the spool department. Then you have to weigh having me convert it to a 68mm turbine vs buying a whole new turbo. Upgrading what you have to a more driver friendly turbine wheel (if you have one of the larger turbines) is money well spent IMO in a lot of cases.

It's the 62/65/14 and drives fine but surges pretty bad when towing Everytime it shifts and tends to get warm pretty quickly. I planned to do compounds with it but don't want to hassle with it at the moment as I have some little ones that demand attention
