yea traded it, spare motor will be here with in 2 weeks

so far, blown head gasket, and leaking water soon as poored in behind the flywheel, gotta get trans and clutch out now

verdict is in, rear freeze plug popped out!!! and hit clutch for sparks!! no cracks on block or any thing, Going to replace both rear freeze plugs and back of head freeze plugs while at it, for safety measure then pressure test coolant system

that must have been water I could see hitting the track at the end of the pull, I thougt it was parts! Sounds like good news so far...

A head gasket is still a lot better than a bunch of pistons and blocks etc,,,, just alot of work on a ford

the real question is, what caused the freeze plug to come out? Maybe just the head gasket let go and pressurized the cooling system? Hopefully not something too bad...

I'm no expert but I wonder if when the turbo snuffed out and water kept coming if you hydrolocked a cylinder or two. Then the headgasket went and pressurized the cooling system enough to pop a freeze plug.


Better check piston protrusion while the head(s) is off to make sure you didn't bend a rod when it hydro locked.

Ouchy, always hate to see that. Gasket for sure, and blowing that plug might have kept it from hydro locking.

Dang Joe hope all you did was blow a headgasket and freeze plug. That has been one tuff truck though.
