I wouldn't mind switching to a dry filter my self if it was just as good as our oil filters

I've been running the Amsoil universal dri filter for about 10 months. Fits the afe torque tube and with good results. I beleave they call it EAAU or something like that.

I switched to the AEM DryFlow synthetic filter (like the AFE Dry-S filter) from my AFE oiled filter and saw a large drop in silicon on the oil report. I'm assuming that any of the synthetic, no-oil filters would do the same?
BTW, if you look at the wear metals, you'll see that nitrous is very hard on bearings.

AFE Pro Dry - S is a GOOD filter.
Why AFE vs. AEM.... Because if your going stage II you still get the cooler intake air when using a box style intake system. The AEM filter looks cool and I am sure it filters grand, but lots of people in the industry refer to them as a "Filter on a stick".
All the engine compartment heat easily gets drawn into any filter element that just resides in the engine compartment. Any reduction in intake air tempurature equates to HP even if it's only 10 degrees F.
Go stage two or get a Box style system and you'll be in better shape.
Just My Oppie.
PM me if you want a price

I understand the hot air vs. cold air when we're talking replacement intakes. The thing I was really curious about is if there's a difference between the AFE Pro Dry-S filter media, the Amsoil synthetic media and the AEM DryFlow media? Each filter's media looks the same; aren't they the same?

I really do not know this one, sorry for the late response.
If you speak with the people from S&B they will tell you to run for the hills.
