I'm not familiar enough with 48re tuning, but bringing my tv screw up on my 47re worked great. It makes it carry 1st gear a lot longer and it made my truck drive so much cleaner. It also makes the truck feel like it's got to put in much less effort.

I know your TV stuff is electronic, but if you could change your 1st gear shift point higher, I think that'd help.

As for the pre-turbo smoke (really low rpms), that sounds like a question for someone other than me!

Get used to low end smoke, and bump up your first couple shift points.

Adjust your boost/fuel limiter and bump your TTVA up a few degrees

maybe a dumb question but its defiantly taking off in first right? Most trucks I've put a lower stall converter in turn into animals with a stock or slightly larger than stock turbo and decent fueling upgrades. Occasionally when a governor solenoid or transducer is bad it will take off in second gear, and feel like a real dog.

Sitting in gear at stop lights and in traffic will get it hot faster as the shear in the converter is higher creating more heat. I bump it into neutral all the time to keep temps down

Yup it's running in 2nd off the line! Guess I'll pop a new pressure solenoid in it I ordered the upgraded GM style! I'll try that N drop and see if that helps with temps!
On a side note I put a new lock up solenoid in it and my switch still doesn't work I even grounded the wire at the plug and nothing! Any ideas?
