1600 deg.... wow thats hot....

So I was driving along the and notice the truck was way down on power. Pyro was around 1350 which is normal for regen. but then I came on a hill and watched the pyro hit 1600. Lost all power and the truck died. Pulled all the codes and called my Cummins contact. Turns out the dpf was PLUGGED!!!! Plugged i said! Like the old potato in the tailpipe trick. I said you have got to be #@%$^%#$^%#$^ kidding me. I spent 46k on a truck and the exhaust plugs. Needless to say i have a new dpf and now have a Cummins data log box in the truck. Looks like a straight pipe version may not be far off.

I'm sure you guys know.. I just found out they inject fuel into the exhaust before it ever hits that EGT probe you have in there.. so EGT's during a regen mean absolutely nothing.. Other then the fact that that is what's going through your turbo..
