Odd shifting automatic
I just replaced the transmission in my 03. When I bought it It wasn't running due to transmission and transfer case problems. I got it running, and have put about 300 miles on it this is my first auto, and I have a few questions. At light throttle it will hold on to 2nd gear longer than I think it should(2300-2500) then finally go into 3rd. Also when you floor it it won't shift past second untill you back off the throttle a bit, and when you stop it rolling down the road, it will shift back to second on the governer. Is my kickdown cable set too tight? What would cause this situation, tranny feels sold no slipping, and the fluid is at proper levels.

ok now 2nd slips and is pretty much not there. Tranny is supposed to be reasonably fresh. Would an electrical issue cause this. The wiring for the transmission has been ripped up and repaired?

if you put it in neutral, then back to drive sometime it will work just fine. I'm assuming the cable needs to be adjusted. Is their a proper procedure for adjusting?

On the first note, I thought the proceedure was to hold the pedal on the floor and adjust the TV to be full forward at WOT. Then make fine adjustment as needed
