94' Top overhaul
I removed the head off my 94' running takeout motor with 85k on it. I wanted to swap in new valve springs, have a look at the cylinders, machine pedastals, put in studs and replace valve seals. Head gasket looked great as did the cylinders, great cross hatch.
Machine shop said head was warped a bit and had to remove 0.015" to get flat. As a result he cut new valve seats. Guides looked good. With 0.015" off the head can I still use stock thickness head gasket?

If the valves have been sunk deeper into the seats, then stock gasket is no problem.

So read lots of different opinions on cleaning the deck. Pretty sure no pneumatic tools? Friend at the machine shop said spray wd40 on it get gasket material off with scraper the cross hatch with true bar wrapped in 180 grit? Seems coarse. I just don't want to get anything in the cylinders. Any suggestions?

We use a bristle disk to clean the surface.

Got the head back. The valve faces are 0.041" above head surface. With 0.015" machined during head resurface, am I still good with a stock hg? I'll also be using either a stock cam or an Enterprise cam that is at the shop getting polished.
Also put in the valve springs from my old head. Thought they were 60# springs, but the shop measured 150# valve pressure. Would these be 165# springs?

After a bit of reading I think I answered my on questions. Totally depends on the cam profile and they are probably 60# springs with 150# seat pressure
