IMO, do the axle upgrades and then play with tires all you want. You can still break with 33's.

There were a few of them w/ 4.10's and 33's and they were making it into 4th on some tracks and doing real well. All of those guys leave the line a lot easier than you were. I wish you luck next season! I do like the Mastercraft Courser C/T, they look like they would work well on a lit of tracks. There are some tracks out there that a MT does work on but the majority an AT seems to work best, maybe have 2 MT's on seperate rims if you get to a real bad track you can run them in the front or something. Good luck!
Yeah there were quite a few extreme launches last year..
I had a lot of "unique" breakage and parts issues as well. I bet I broke on the line more than anyone just holding the brakes spooling up.

Hopefully I can launch it a bit softer this year while still getting the charger lit, this new one is a monster!

Thanks for the input!

One more thing I was pondering.. 285/75's or 305/70s?
Could I use the extra width?

Some times wider is not better on a street tire to a certian point.

Can you explain that some 2wpuller?

I was under the impression that, for the most part, more contact patch was better. Only exception I can think of is in mud and ice and neither of those are pulling conditions.

I'm not trying to be a smart a$$, just seriously wondering how you arrive at that conclusion or what the situation would be where more traction isn't the goal and how having more contact patch would prevent that.

Sorry I don,t type very fast at all.
If you have a lower hp. truck on a good biting track you don,t want a very wide tire need some slippage to keep the motor rpms up.
In missouri we have had some tracks that are sohard that all you do is lay black marks with the wide tires.the narrow tire will some time dig thru the top crust =pound per sq inch of rubber on the ground.
Each truck will act differant all depend on the HP and the chassi set up.
I have been pulling for many years sinceI was a kid Hard for me explain be typing.
Sorry hope this will help some .

Gotcha

I thought it have something to do with not having enough Ummph to turn the big tires effectively on a tight biting track.

Unlike you, I have never pulled anything (well, not in motorsports anyways ) so I was just wondering. Its all a learning game.

Thanks
