I think it's pretty impressive how Cummins reuses designs in different series of engine. I know the N14 is the same cubic inch as the NTC but I find it amazing that the two series of engines are so similar that parts are interchangeable. It's like the 5.9s and the 6.7s, IIRC 40% of the 6.7 is the same as the 5.9.

That's cool and all that he converted an electronic engine to a mechanical engine like that. But wouldn't an electronic N14 make more power?

I think it's almost impossible to get big enough Celect injectors, they have quite small plungers and I think they can not be modified for more travel like PT injectors. Then there's always that programming thing, not many have done those and most of them don't know what they are doing.

Maybe in Europe, but I've seen a 1,000 hp N14 in a road tractor. Can a NTC do that or a mechanical N14? I've also heard the N14s had bearing issues at higher horsepower levels.

I know those power levels are nothing compared to a big Cat. But from my limited knowledge and experience, I feel 1,000 hp is on the high side of the N series Cummins engines?

I'd be happy with a 1,000 hp at the tires with an 855.

The engine in the video is about 1700 hp, max rpm 2900 limited by the regulations.

No, you have not seen a 1000 hp Celect.

Software is even bigger problem in USA.

I don't think a 1000hp electronic Cummins even exists as far as on-road engines go

PP box is about maxing out Celect engine, you can maybe get a little bit more from optimised software with advanded timing and higher rpm, well matched turbo and maybe slightly enlarged nozzless, but I still think 1000 is not possible with those injectors, 900 maybe.

What turbo, even at take off there is very limited smoke for something that has almost .500" of injector travel.

Thanks, just got brought it home a few weeks ago. Little polish, and some new led lights and it looks good for 1.5 million on the clock. I will try and get some interior pictures later.

Yes, inframed at 1 million and a new set of injectors one year ago. We have known where the truck has been since 97. Then that guy had bought it off a relative. So we have all maintenance records of truck since it rolled off the lot in 94.
