'06 6.0L will not run! Help
Ok gentlemen I am in great need here. I have an '06 6.0 F-350 and it was cut off and never ran again. Where to start? FICM voltage is 47.5volts. ICP runs on up to 1800 once it hit 500. IPR starts out at 15 and goes to 85 after it spins a few seconds. Injectors are new. Fuel pressure is 60 psi. Cam and crank sensors are new. Engine wiring harness was replaced with a harness from a running truck. Now when you look at the rpm's when you are trying to start it (looking on a Verus or Solus scanner) they only read 43-56 rpms but the motor sounds like it is spinning faster. I am now extremely lost and I do not know where to check from here. The Ecm is the only thing I have not changed. I am looking for HELP from all of the powerstroke Gods, Please and Thanks.

Does the low pressure oil gauge on the dash come up after cranking for a few seconds?

Low pressure gauge comes up as normal as any other one I have looked at.

Location? Unplug fan and see if it fires. Remove serpentine belt and see if it fires. Look at ficm/cam/crank sync on scan tool. Should say "yes" when cranking.

Have you checked fuel quality? Checked ICP manually?

You need to know ficm voltage while cranking.

FICM voltage does not change more than a half volt when cranking. The fan unplugged and the belt removed makes no changes. The fuel in this truck is same fuel I am running in my Chevy and it runs well. I do not get a yes on the synch because it sees only 45-55 rpms on the scanner.

Sounds like there's your problem. Ecm won't fire until the minimums are met. I know you said the sensors are new, but you can have bad parts right out of the box. Happens more than you'd think. Or the harness is damaged. Either way, you need to see a couple hundred rpm.

I replaced the crank sensor and the harness from a running truck I have. This truck will not run. everything makes the other truck run. That is why I am so lost now.

Something I've seen only a couple of times in all of my years on the forum, but worth checking... the crank tone ring. I've heard of a few cracking and causing no start situations. Even had one where the guy swore up and down he checked it, then for fun he re-checked it and found it was only cracked half way around. It would randomly start find and run all day, then next day wouldn't start for 100 tries, but then on the 101st try, fire up like nothing was ever wrong.

I pulled crank sensor out and put my bore camera in the hole and rotated the motor and everything looked good. Darn truck only has 59000 miles on it but it looks like it may go away.

Got a spare FICM to try? What state are you in? Try these links.
http://www.fordtechservice.dealercon...ficm_guide.pdf
http://www.fordiesels.com/content/ford7.3techinfo.pdf
Im betting ficm.....RPM signal comes from ficm.
Im leaving for Colo. tonight and can bring a ficm and IDS if you are along the way.

I have tried the FICM and it did not change anything. The signal comes from the sensors to the PCM then to the FICM to fire the injectors. with brand new and tested sensors and good wiring, I am leaning towards a problem with the PCM. I just don't have hard proof. I am real surprised no one else has ever had this problem. Thanks for the links I will definately give them a try.

Do you have the tools to scope the signal from the crank sensor right at the sensor and at the pcm and make sure you have a good square wave signal?

Did you swap the ficm or assume its good because the voltage was fine?

You have a modis or verus? Where are you located?
Edit: I don't think the IPR should be going to 85% That is maxed out....

Ok. Its a little much to explain online, see if you can find a local mechanic to show you how.
