Angry Looking a a new turbo opinions appreciated

Ok my stock he351cw developed some bad shaft play recently an im trying to decied what to do either try an rebuild it an hope for the best or throw a new turbo at it im not trying to be down for a long time so if i go with a new turo i'd prefer a drop in replacement. Also i'm trying to keep this a "workstock",street diesel puller/ DD, the truck has everything in the sig minus a Bills custom intake an intake manifold, i've been contemplating the Fleece Holset HE351 Cheetah but i figured i'd get some other opinions.

I am really liking my Garrett GT3788R which is a Stage 3 dual ball bearing turbo, swapped out the exhaust housing for a .89AR from Turbo Re-Source with HX40 outlet. It does require plumbing in the coolant line but not too bad. It starts spooling around 12-1300 RPM.

Thank you have been on a turbo hunt for a while an this is a hard decision but trying to stay "workstock" legal was my best option when mine went kaphooy

yea there was alot of research done while looking b4 my turbo went out an a few others had been considered but "stock appearing" pull rules put a big restriction on what turbo i would be able to run an this one definitely fits the bill

So question on your workstock they don't check them at all it just has to look stock? Don't matter cast or billet?

around here they have a locals "street diesel" of which i have seen only a few Stock turbo's actually pulling most have been replaced with an super b special or other stockish size turbo around here there is no Competitive drive for workstock class except a few places like in north carrolina (morgans corner) most places that have a street diesel class are jus trying to get what they can to come an participate there are the diehards that go an pull at all the local events they can. As far as tech goes i've pulled 10 or so times this year (just started in aug) an not once have i had to open my hood to a tech. i'm out looking for the fun aspect of it but also trying to stay within NADM rules for workstock class so if i ever have the opportunity to compete on a point level i would be legal

i would like to add this is a learning experiance for me i grew up pulling lawn mowers i have a small crew of followers (thanks dad) but most of the people i work with don't understand what drives me to hook my truck to a 40-55klbs sled and drag it 300ft down the track. every time i go i'm not trying to "full pull" i go to learn new aspects of the truck how it performs under conditions my "goal" is make the pull an drive home if i beat my previous pull kudos if not go back an figure what i did differently

I was about to say a gallon of acetone dumped in it, flushes around then dumped out the inlet... You will be surprised what comes out of it and how many people actually need to clean theirs!
