-2015 EFI live is here.

EPA unfriendly
looks like its going to get even more tricky for us with these newer ECU's:doh:

no more reading stock files AND your telling me i have to buy a bully dog just to "not use it"?

i do not tune on a professional level and there are a lot of "garage tuners" like myself that do it to learn rather than make money and i hate to say it but i don't like the idea of buying a bully dog just to use efi live.

i sure hope there is a workaround for whatever Bully dog is using to intercept the new plug under the hood....

Take an angle grinder to the ECM case, open it up without damaging the circuit boards and leaving the case intact enough that you can seal it so it's water tight when you refit it.

Then grab a soldering iron and hot wire the circuit board. Seal up the case, refit it and you're good to go!

The BullyDog method is far easier for most people. Kudos for them for developing a solution. We have no plans in copying their design and refitting our own hardware to be compatible.....lets face it, now Cummins knows there is a back door...will it still be open on 2016 models?

I am aware of another company testing a solution, I'm sure when they have something ready they will share their news.

Cheers

thats great cindy! thanks for that info!

the man cant hold us down *grabs his six shooter*

Fleece Performance Engineering in conjunction with EFILive is pleased to announce a solution to switch off the Anti-Tuning measures for 2013-15 Cummins 6.7L ECM's. This solution eliminates the need to purchase additional hardware that will be used 'once only' to unlock the ECM prior to custom tuning.

Further details can be found in todays newsletter, or on our website. http://www.efilive.com

Cheers

Bully Dog ceo just broke every chair in their office.

From a commercial tuners standpoint I feel if BD developed a licensing system like planned, then I still think it's the better option and should be half Fleece's cost after the initial tuner purchase. For the end user who tunes just a hand full of trucks or their own I feel this is a great cost effective option.

Holy, talk about hanging your ass out to the wind. ECM tampering? Sounds like an EPA wet dream.
For every challenge, there's hackers who are more than happy to try to bust up a program and share the secret...for a price.

Mark.

Can you use the bullydog to delete multiple trucks or just delete one truck and tuner on others?

You cannot delete any trucks with bully dog. What the Bully Dog allows you to do is unlock ECM so it can be tuned with the BD tuner or any other tuner. It just gives you access so to speak. Currently you unlock only one Cummins truck per tuner unless you send the tuner back to bully Dog I believe. Last I heard they're wanting to do a licensing system like efilive does with Vin license so you can unlock multiple trucks with the same tuner.

So has bully dog got it worked out on the 2015 yet? Cause I talked to them a month ago about getting mine unlocked with my gt tuner and they told me it still wasn't ready.

Fleece also offers an ECM unlock service. Pull yours, send it to them, they flash it, re-install, then flash your EFI tune of choice.

I have a bully dog gt tuner already from an old truck. I talked to bully dog and they said I could use it on my new one once they get a tune out for it but as of right now its not out. But they said it should be any day now and they have a 2015 in the shop working on it. I just wish the bully dog did the delete so I wouldn't have to buy another programmer for that. I may just going with the resistors for now and opt out of buying another tuner for a little while.

They're just watching their own ass. And they've had kind of a monopoly on the market in a sense, so why ruin a good thing. We'll see what they do from here on out though.
