Vibrant performance bellow pressure rating

I'm going all vband on my charge pipes and I already run solid engine mounts. I want to run a bellow in the charge pipe going to the intercooler from turbo's and found vibrant part# 68834 which is for 3" pipe. I've looked all over and can't find any pressure rating for the bellow. Will it work? Or any other brand I should use. Will be seeing over 100lbs. Thanks

I run one of those on the hot-side of my mess. That particular model includes a sleeve on the interior that keeps the moving stuff off the rough profile of the bellows. (Attached on the inlet end, floating on the outlet end).

- In my application, the only movement the bellows accommodates is mostly thermally driven so I can't speak for the overall range of movement.
- While the measurements are 3" ID for the inlet and outlet, that internal sleeve has things neck down perhaps a quarter of an inch or so.
- IIRC, the thing is not thick-walled. Maybe 20ish gauge or there abouts.
- 304 stainless steel construction.
- It is my belief the thing is NOT made to withstand substantial/constant flexing as in that sense, work-hardening will result in the bellows fracturing.
- From my point of view, I think, it could comfortably and reliably accommodate perhaps 10* of flex (The internal sleeve limits that), maybe 1/4" expansion/contraction, and absolutely NO torsional movement.
- My application has the thing deal with around 60(?) psig of 1000*f exhaust gas.

Over all, it appears well constructed and if kept within a reasonable range of movement, it should work OK for a while. We'll see.

IIRC, they are available with and without the internal sleeve, as well as with or without an external braided SS sleeve.

Hope this helps. :)

Out of curiosity why don’t you have a radiused interstage pipe? Just using that for time being?

I had that in my original Firepunk Compound setup. It held around 100psi just fine. However, I recommend you use Vibrant Vanjen clamps if you are still sourcing the parts. The vanjen clamps are tested to 200psi and facilitate engine flex.

I was using the BD Boost Lock Kit on the manifold inlet, but after I switched injectors and secondary from a .91 to 1.0 it bent and broke, taking out a power steering line in the process. Firepunk set me up with Vanjen connections at the turbo outlet and intake manifold inlet. Still running regular boots at both intercooler connections.

If you use it wire it tight. I suggest there hd clamps with built in movement at 900 psi rating or something crazy
