duramax/nv5600

in diesel power mag i saw an 81-81 c30 crew cab w/ a duramax/nv4500 combo and wonedered if the nv5600 would work.i want to put that in a reg cab k30.

suggestion?

The NV4500 is a bolt up. It has the correct bolt pattern and input shaft. The NV5600 would need a custom adpater plate different clutch disk and pilot bearing. The clutch slave cylinder my need to changed or altered.

It would be easier to use a GM ZF6.

besides, the NV5600 is no longer made so finding a new one is not possible, finding a good quality rebuilt unit is EXPENSIVE, and to find parts for one when you break it is pricey as hell too.

trust me i know, i broke my 5600 for the 3rd time this weekend and im ready to throw it in a river somewhere.
