AFE stage 1 or Race version?
Is anyone running the Race version of the AFE stage 1 intake system? Do yall think there is a better advantage to the race version, or is the regular stage 1 just as good.

The race version is basically, the stage 2 filter with the stage 1 heatshield.
Same external dimensions, but the Race has a 6" inlet and slightly bigger base diameter, while the standard has a 4.5" inlet. The race will flow a little more air, just not sure how much.

I'd bet that BHAF Dave has flows as much air. My race Version means I remove my filter

I just found this on another website.
The BHAF flows only 680 cfm, wheras the AFE stage I flows 840 or so CFM..
I think I might call up AFE and see what they have to say about that filter for the fun of it.

I switched to the race version from the standard. I'm not sure if there is really any difference but the race version appears to be louder in the cab. Even the missus thought so.

I think the race version with the torque tube would be a nice filter setup.

The BHAF is GREAT for dusty conditions and for those of us who really work their trucks in dirty environments, but it sacrifices flow for maximum air cleaning ability. Lifes a trade off and I'm gonna hate to trade my BHAF off for an AFE when I get a new spinny whoopdey thingy on the truck
