Dude you really make no sense! Why go through the trouble of pulling the timing case,girdle,mains and then the crank when you could just pull the head put a new MLS gasket in and do
The headstuds unless your doing a complete rebuild and want the crank checked leave the damn thing in there!

What are your thoughts on re-using the rings?

I have ~50K (estimated) on my engine and want to swap rods.

It would put rings in just for the fact of its already apart and they're cheap to buy

If you guys are nickel and diming on rings and headgaskets, you can't afford a rod swap.
