Question EGR Motor Actuator Dummy plug.

Anyone done any research on how to make a dummy plug for the actuator motor? It'd be nice to not have to leave it plugged in for the Smarty. H&S doesn't require it to be left plugged in, but for the Smarty, I have to just unbolt it and stuff it out of the way when deleting on the intake. Kinda silly.

It doesn't look too bad.

I wonder exactly what circuits the Smarty has to have to not have an error? Signals 1,2,&3 will be simple to fake out as long as the control 1,2,&3 don't need to show a load.

Thoughts? Ideas?

If the control does need to show a load, then why not measure the approximate resistance and just add a resistor to it?

I can do that too. Just wondered if anyone has done this with success. I wonder if the Smarty needs the contol lines loaded, or the signal lines, or all of the above.

I had it unplugged and asked a few folks. A shop told me it has to be plugged in or the Smarty could lose 40hp or so if what they heard. A few others have told me I have to leave it plugged in as well. It didn't throw any codes, but I did have a cut-out every now and then while accelerating. I wondered if that was the cause and have since plugged it back in.

i ran mine w/o it pluged in for about a yr. then i seen it was suppose to be plugged in so i plugged it back in and never seen no difference or codes. except it broke loose from where i had it mounted and rubbed a hole in my power steering low pressure line on a 12hr trip that sucked.

I never leave them plugged in. Haven't had any adverse effects. Although I don't stick them on a dyno and check them. So there may be truth to the 40hp deal. But no codes should come up.

I can't see it doing a 40HP derate without throwing codes.

Don't remember the version # but the newer tunes did away with the 40hp issue. I have dynoed with 18me and 18TNT and up with out seeing the 40 hp decrease. This was clarified by BOB some time ago.

Thanks. Maybe I just need to ask Bob. I hate to bug the man. I'm running the S67V619B-DRM01E tune. I it is the latest to my knowledge.
