6.4 w/47re Single Turbo Pretty F'n Sweet

Me and Dallas went for some test drives in the test truck for their new 47re swap and single turbo pedistal with a S366 and let me tell ya what, once the fuel map gets stretched out and the tcm gets tuned its gonna be insane. Cant say enough on how good the quality is for these two swaps. They are definetly on to something with this one. Keep it coming.

Oh yeah, however I think this is more along the lines of a direct bolt-on kit for the average diesel guy. But with it paired with the 47re its a rpm machine. They tried it with a s471 but the tuning wasnt set-up right for it. Lots of testing still to come for sure.

I'm looking at building up a 6.4. I've got a builder engine. Will most likely go non-vnt, and the right cam seems to be a key component there.

Personally I am not a Powerstroke expert, but logic tells me that with the amount of fuel twin k-16s can push a huge cam will be most definitely be needed to not choke the charger out. Just my own logic, correct me if I am wrong, cuz I am not sure.

From everything I've read/heard, the 6.0 and 6.4 are very VNT dependent because the cam profile is designed to work with the VNT. They don't thump the turbine very hard because they don't have to due to the VNT.

That's why a 6.0 that can turn 4500rpm still wants a .70 turbine housing on an S300 where a 5.9 that'll only turn 4000rpm is still choked down by the .70 and wants a .80 or bigger.

Whos tuning? They need to get a tune from Matt @ Gearhead - his tuning will make all the difference....

I'm interested to see how the 47 holds up, so far so good for the 6.4/4r100 swap though at 1,000hp.

Eric @ innovative and with its history in high horse cummins and dmax the 47 should be just fine. And it's relatively easy to tune according to the experts.

There is a 6.4 with an S480 from MPD on it. street driven. S475s are supposedly streetable.

over 900 on fuel at the wheels with a single, i think the 75.
