03 defueling under heavy throttle?

Hello, I have an 03. 305 ho automatic. running a smarty with revo program on 8 and tst power max on 2. The truck drives fine, but when given heavier throttle it will run great in first gear and 2nd, once it hits 3 around 40 mph or so the truck will stop accelerating and act like its bogging down almost, will not come out of it until I let off, and then it will drive normally. Running an airdog for fuel supply, stock cp3. I'm prett new to the common rails and wondering if this is a pretty common problem and what the fix is? thanks

With smarty on 8 and TST on...your for sure draining the rail.

Either turn the TST off or turn the smarty down to 5.

Ok that's kind of what I suspected, but I didn't know how much the stock system would handle, I have a rail guage coming shortly. How big of a pump would it take to handle the smarty/tst? I have no ther plans than that, this is just my daily driver.

Recently we had a stock injector dual stock cp3 '06 make 607hp with a smarty/TST stack.

It truly depends on your injector goal.

Stock injectors, I'd suggest a Stg 2 to handle that stack.

shouldn't be running out of fuel IMO...

unless the CP3 is weak...

check your rail relief valve

It's not getting all that hot, like 12-1300 maybe. That's part of the reason I was thinking lack of fuel, I just don't know yet exactly where the limits are on stock common rail fuel systems.

Will the relief valve be easy to see if it"s bad once I get the rail guage on it?

I doubt you popped it since you dont have a pressure box etc. the rail gauge will just tell you what pressure you have. ive ran the stack before and it will drain the rail even with a modded pump my truck would pop and cut out but the wasnt an 03 either. they seem to run alot better with a tst than the newer trucks do. if it wont build much pressure ive got a rail cap you could borrow to see if the relief valve is bad also but I wouldnt run it forever.
