Ran across a guy parting out a 97 FL70.. engine forward including accessories cooling stack and electrical harness for $800.00
6cta 8.3 250HP with a 12mm pump
Been sitting for 5+ years.. supposedly got over heated... Coolant look good and so did oil..
Figured I'd jump on it while I could..

That’s a good deal. Even if the motor looked as rough as the turbo you could scrap it for that.

Looks like detonation.
I couldn't imagine doing what you do with a 454.
Unless you run 55mph on flat road.

Hauled a cat 3512 engine and cradle from SLC to San Antonio... It's a turd at 10,000 feet lol with 15k on the deck.. 4.63 grears helps a lot 70 mph with ~2500rpm with NV 4500

Detonation would show up elsewhere

Are you still rolling in the 3500? Or back in mutt 1 or 2?
