Camshaft wear ?'s

I recently pulled my cam while doing a front-end reseal just to see how it was wearing/breaking-in. I took some pictures of it and wanted to get you guy's opinions on how it looks. It's a stage 3 Colt cam 181/210 and I have been running STP Zinc additive in every oil change since it was installed. Let me know what you think. I also took a pic of the front Cam bushing in the block, it looks kinda rough on the bottom like shown in the picture, but the top is perfect. What do you guys think of it and will it be fine? THanks in advance too.

Jeeze. Time to investigate the rest of the power-plant. Something got into your oil system or let loose. Does anybody think that the additive might have caused this? I find it hard to believe but you never know.

what did that front bushing/bearing look like when you installed the cam. Most I've seen have a little wear, but nothing like that.

Normal wear .. What looks like wear is just the coating the use on lobes .... That damage to bushing is from removing and installing cam call colt and ask him about coating I have seen this before ...I remove coating before installing

So overall opinion of cam shaft is normal wear. I figured it was but I was thinking of taking it work and our crank/cam guy take a look and maybe polish just bushing areas not the journals.

The bushing was in better shape from what I remember, but I have pulled the cam a time or two before. Which would cover the nicking of the bushing. I wanted to find out wether or not it would be fine to go ahead an run with it. If it will last I will, I plan to do a rebuild in the next year so I was hoping it would last till then.

Zach, would combustion gases be coming past the rings or some where else? I only ask cause I had replaced the rings about 9 months ago with total seals. I am wanting to know how to prevent any problems with my future complete rebuild. Thanks for all your help so far. I appreciate it.

Past the rings or past the valve seals but there is no way to completely seal it up. This were you get blow by from.

Adding a breather couldn't hurt then, I have the front breather and one in the valve cover. Pretty much all my blow by comes from the front one not the cover. I am adding a 12 tappet cover to it now. Thanks for the info.
