Word of caution, watch for cracking on the key way.
I've pitched quite a few over this.
Mark.

I guess the cracking is a common thing, from over-torquing the retaining nut.
That nut has a goofy low torque spec, it's like an inch wide but with a torque spec in inch-pounds. I guess good-n-tight will crack the gear. Which means I probably cracked mine years ago but didn't notice it.
Since nobody has horror stories of exploded injection pump gears, it's probably safe to assume that running the cracked gear isn't a problem.
Thanks guys for offering me new ones though, I'll buy a new one this once.

Not inch-pounds. 44ft lbs. is spec'd in my Shop Manual.
I had mine up to 75ft lbs. in the past. Suggested by my pump builder. When I pulled the engine apart for the rebuild, the pump gear was perfect. Upon assembly, I put it to the Cummins spec.
