installed 480sxe in compound

installed the 480sxe on my 12v last weekend.. in compound with 362sxe/68/12

keep blowing the boot at the outlet of the secondary.. 0-100psi gauge is on the way..spoolup is bad.. no boost until 1900rpm.. will have to re tune it..and ima down the timing to 18-19.. im at 22 now..cant really test the top end cause of the boot..boot from the BD Kit with clamp.. the sound of the truck is different..at low rpm(under 2000) it sound like a blocked air filter.. but it sound the same without air filter

Make up a metal strap to keep the boot from slipping off, I think your making a wrong move lowering the timing from 22.

Did you run that 362 as a single first, if so how did it spool and run with that?

Is it a 480/96/1.32? If so that will spool compared to the 75/83 a good bit slower, as I'm sure you know. For the power that charger can make spooling at 1900 isn't bad at all.

yah 480/96/1.32 got like 4-5lbs of total boost at 1900rpm.. no head porting and no cam.. got a 362/68/12.. maybe upgrade to 64.5/73/14..but it will spool later again..

Check the wastegate and check for boost/exhaust leaks. Your secondary should be doing more at 1700. T4 or t3 62mm fmw - Competition Diesel.Com - Bringing The BEST Together

If you actually read it, he could make 20psi at 1700rpm out of a 62/68/t4 setup.

So no boost until 1800 RPM with this big as twin set up...and no real Smoke? I assume the truck is a turd down low also.

What RPM is the boot blowing off?

got a little smoke.. smoke screw is ajusted to have a little haze and not ''roll coal'' and i got afc live with the 40-65psi spring from PDD.. so its pretty easy to tune the truck..
