Misc. 12v Cummins parts for sale

All parts came from a good running 1993 engine with approximately 200-250,000 miles. Motor dropped the KDP and broke the case just above the cam gear. Other parts came from their specified year model engine. I'll post pictures via Tapatalk in a reply. If I'm forgetting any parts, I'll list them along with pictures as I find them.

Location: Orange County, Calif. 90630
Contact: Reply here or PM. I'll reply as quickly as I can. I'm here regularly.

These prices are based off of what I’ve seeing listed and sold recently and seem to be reasonable for what the parts are.

**Prices are negotiable. Shipping costs to be determined. Buyer will cover shipping.**

1 – 5.9L 12v crankshaft. $200

1 – 5.9L 12v camshaft with gear, thrust bearing/bushing and set of 12 tappets; not in their consecutive order. $200

6 – 5.9L 12v Brazil cast connecting rods with caps and bolts. Pistons still attached with rings, wrist pins and retainers (snap rings). All in good condition. Assumed to be original, standard size pistons. Can be mic’d for exact size if desired. $200

1 – 12v engine oil filter head (housing). Mounting bolts available if needed. $25

1 – 12v engine oil cooler. Pressure tested to 75-80psi. $100

1 – 12v lube oil pump. $25

1 – 12v oil pan with drain plug. $100

1 – 12v oil sump pick-up tube. $50

1 – 12v tappet cover with noise insulation attached and completely intact. I have a new seal that will go with it. $75

1 – 12v rear main seal housing. Mounting bolts available if needed. $25

1 – 12v dipstick with tube, block adapter and spring clamps. $20

1 – 12v VE pump timing gearcase with 3 pump mounting studs, timing pin and housing minus 1 mounting bolt. The case is cracked due to KDP mentioned above. I imagine this might be good enough for scrap pile but listing anyway. Not sure what it’s worth to anybody. $20? (Pump mounting studs, timing pin and housing can be separated if there is interest)

1 – 1991.5-1998 12v water inlet connection (A/C compressor and lower alternator bracket) from manual transmission truck. $50

1 – Set of 12v cylinder head bolts (26). Purchased new in Aug. 2009. Torque plus angle (90*) requirement. Torqued only once. No retorques after final whatsoever. $100

1 – Set of 12v push rods original to my 1990 engine. Approx. 500k miles. $50

1 – 12v cylinder head with 9mm injector bores. Original to my 1990 engine. Adapters needed if using 7mm nozzle injectors. Machined once, .006” removed to make true, valve job performed, new valve seals (old style) installed, stock valve springs, retainers and collets. A few hairline cracks found by magnaflux during inspection in the typical locations, from the injector bore and into the intake valve seat. Cracks were not visible after grinding from the valve job. All work done in Aug. 2009. Head is in and will be shipped in a wooden crate received from Cummins when I ordered a reman’d head. $300

I noticed I didn't have a pictures of the crankshaft, camshaft, lube oil pump, cylinder head bolts and push rods. I'll take some and get them posted.

The crank and cam have been covered in plastic wrap. All other parts are inside covered rubbermaid containers.

Lube oil pump. Turns freely with no binding. Gearlash feels minimal. I can measure specs if one would like.

Not sure what you mean. Are others selling the same parts? Is that what you're asking?

I'm sure the thought of shipping costs is part of why I still have these parts. I've seen similar parts elsewhere sell off in heartbeat for the same asking prices.

Convenient bump.

IMO your parts arnt selling because prices are a little high, shipping could be higher from the coast for a lot of people, but as far as the parts. When I build engines I will NEVER reuse oil coolers, oil pumps, head bolts or the junk factory tapper covers. The timing case should be scrapped since VE are a dime a dozen. Just my opinion (and many engine manufacturers), not trying to start a war like many people online like to do.

Thanks. No offense taken. Prices may well be a bit high. I searched for quite a while to compare prices of similar parts that were sold most recent to me posting the thread. I listed them for what I found and thought to be the average going rate. I'm not against taking offers and negotiating. Nor would I negotiate excessively down to a negligible difference. Not at all to say "I know what I have, don't low-ball me." I'm reasonable and easy to work with. I knew the thought of shipping costs might be a turn-off, though.

I understand your preference in not reusing parts. Just thought I'd offer what I have, if there's any interest at all. No hurt in trying. Oddly enough, I had a bite on the oil pump and cooler immediately after posting. The oil cooler pressure tested to and held 80psi showing no signs of a leak from anywhere in the core. I gave no guarantee or warranty that either would function flawlessly or at all but the guy wanted spare parts for his shelf.

Those air filter minders didn't exist on the 89-93 trucks/engines. However, I do happen to have a new one (unused) that I bought to use with a K&N filter but ditched the idea. I don't recall if the grommet came with it. If I can find the box with the filter in it, it's yours. What's it worth to you? Looks like they sell new for anywhere from $22-37. I could make a box for it and be able to ship it cheap. Likely less than a $5 flat-rate box.

PM me if you'd like.

New prices and available part(s) since the last update.

1 - 2006 5.9L CR 48RE flexplate and OEM transmission pan with roughly 65k miles. Will sell with or without the pan. It's my understanding that the flexplate will work for all 89 to at least 06 transmissions in trucks equipped with a Cummins (TF727, A518/46RH/E, 47RH/E (A618), 48RE, etc.). $50

1 – 5.9L 12v crankshaft. $150

1 – 5.9L 12v camshaft with gear. Have the thrust bearing/bushing and set of 12 tappets; not matched to their respective lobes. Will sell cam with or without misc. parts. $125

6 – 5.9L 12v Brazil cast connecting rods with caps and bolts. Pistons still attached with rings, wrist pins and retainers (snap rings). All in good condition. Assumed to be original, standard size pistons. Can check for bowl and piston size if desired. Willing to separate to sell the rods alone. $150

1 – 12v engine oil filter head (housing). Mounting bolts available if needed. $25

1 – 12v oil sump pick-up tube. $25

1 – 12v tappet cover with noise insulation still attached and completely intact. I have a new seal that will go with it. $50

1 – 12v rear main seal housing. Mounting bolts available if needed. $15

1 – 1991.5-1998 12v water inlet connection (A/C compressor and lower alternator bracket) from manual transmission truck. $25

1 – Set of 12v cylinder head bolts (26). Purchased new in Aug. 2009. Torque plus angle (90*) requirement. Torqued only once. No retorques after final whatsoever. $25

1 – Set of 12v push rods original to my 1990 engine. Approx. 500k miles. $25
