Couple questions on 6.7 bottom end assembly
Can anyone tell me which way a Mahle piston goes in a 6.7? One side of the underside has one hole and the other two. I’m guessing that the one hole goes over the cooling nozzle and the side with two are the drain?
Also does the long side of a Carrillo rod go to the oil cooler side or cam side? Oem says numbers are on the long side and long side to cooler but Carrillo’s have numbers only on the short side.
Thanks guys C3A414A4-3815-4FB6-BBB3-34C623AF8360.jpg

The notch in the skirt goes over the piston oiler.

While I've witnessed rods that were installed backwards, and they will still run like this, the correct way is long side towards the cooler like you said.

Long side towards exhaust manifold. This reduces sheer force in the caps/bolts.

Many aftermarket rods won't clear the cam when installed backwards.

My Wagler Rods did not clear the cam. They definitely went in one way.
