Rotating tires on dually
Who rotated tires in a dually properly front to back ect? Seems like a good way to end up with 6 bad tires compared to 2 fronts? My 14 doesn’t seem to like the front tires much. Get maybe 30k out of a set if I had to guess. That pretty normal?

I just buy new frts every 20k miles or so.
If you have Alcoa's, you can't even rotate them without dismounting the tires, only one side of the wheels are polished.

I think I'm around 70k miles on the rears, they last forever on a dually.

Never had a Dodge front end that didn't tear tires up, or destroy about a set of brake pads in a year.
The 4wd junk seems to be the worst about both issues.
Then there's the horrible steering boxes and linkages, not to mention the retarded non-greaseable balljoint design.
Oh, and the atrocious unit bearing hub, lest we forget.

I do the fronts to the inner duals first, then next rotation I do the fronts to the outers. Dismount and rebalance everytime, most small local shops here do it for about $100. By the time it needs another rotation it will be time for new tires anyway.

That’s my Hangup it’s not a simple swap in the driveway. Seems like a good idea to have 4 good tires and just keep swapping fronts from time to time.
I am doing my best to fine new takeoffs that people don’t want when they go bigger. Found a set with 500 miles on them from an 18 for 400 bucks. I just couldn’t get to the guy fast enough.

I don't plan to honestly with my 19.5s. Tire shop that I go through said for mine it will be 200 to swap around and rebalance. He said just to 2 sets of fronts to 1 set of rears.

I gave up on rotating all 6 a while back. Like you said, you'll end up with 6 bald ones. I bought Hankook Dynapro AT's for the rear. The have 20-30K on them and look almost new. I put Nitto Dura Grappler highway treads on the two fronts since they have an almost solid shoulder. This truck (like most dodges) cups the hell out of the edges no matter how many alignments I get. I thought the free spin hubs might help. Or new shocks. Or etc etc. This is my third dually (1999, 2001, now 2009) and they all did/do the same. The parking lot at work here is tight so I do a lot of close turning on pavement that I don't like but have no choice. They have the same mileage on them and will at least make it until next winter.
By new fronts. Leave the backs alone.

That’s pretty much where I am with it. Any suggestions on tires for the front? You happy with your nittos? Never been a huge fan of them.

I'll tell ya, the only bad thing is that if you select tires for mileage, the truck becomes useless in the mud. I've been going to find a pair of used rims and put some cheap MT tires on them. If I know I'm going to be hauling cattle and there is a chance of rain then I can put them on a few days in advance or rain or snow and run them for a week or two. When weather permits, put the highway tires back on. It is a pain but it doesn't take long to swap two tires. It never damn fails...when I wean calves and go to haul them off...it freakin' rains. I dang near didn't make it out of the pasture a few months ago. It dang sure sucks.....but a cheap set of MT's would cure it. I just haven't found two extra rims cheap enough yet.
As far as the Nitto's...ya, I like them. Steer great, ride great, etc. They steer better than any AT I've ever ran for sure. And they don't wander right out of the box like the MT's with tall tread blocks will. I have been fighting sway with my 36' travel trailer for a year. I couldn't get a handle on the tail wip. The first time I pulled it with these tires...it was GONE. Much better. The whole time I was fighting a tire issue and didn't know it.
