P-pumped Duramax?
Has anyone here built a later model p-pumped duramax? Say 2006 or newer?
If so what did you use for a pump, and what injectors?
How did you connect the p-pump?
Line length?
other mods?
thanx
Ken

Might try Chris Watson (supersonic) or Jeremy Flax (can't remember his screen name right now). They are supposed to be developing one for mod. level trucks.
8-cyl inline p-pump or billet pump is attached via a new front case on the block. Think Kenny's Machine & Pulling Parts makes the case?? Pump attaches to the case in the valley like the CP3 normally does and is driven off the cam gear I believe. No idea on pump model numbers. Columbus diesel and Scheid both have V8 pumps (pump is V-shaped, not inline) also IIRC.
No idea on the injectors other than I'm thinking they are using John Deere injectors?? Can't remember for sure. It's posted on here somewhere I *think*. No idea on any other particulars there.
That's all I got. Good luck and PLEASE post whatever you might find out.

I'm putting a Sigma pump on a LBZ based engine.
We made a set of straight cut gears with adjustable cam and pump hubs, and an aluminum cover and backplate setup to mount the pump.
We will be using CDS billet bodied JD style injectors, which fit very nicely in the stock injector bore, we only had to thread the top of the injector bore for the hold down nut and open the nozzle hole a bit.
Dont know the final line length, I dont have my intake manifolds done and i'm planning on going over them with the lines.
Lots of other mods. Steel Main caps, steel girdle, stroker crank, crower rods, SoCal stage 2 heads, Jesel keyed roller lifters, roller rockers, heavier rocker shafts and larger rocker shaft stands, dry sump oiling system ect ect...

It sounds like its going to be a killer setup. My question is why P-pump a duramax???? I know the common rail can only go so far but why the major pump swap???? My question is WHY???? Enlighten me please

Sonic doesn't the rule exclude your truck soon as you go to a stroker crank. I thought the crank had to be stock in the mod class.
Someone else just posted a tractor that uses a P Pump that is belt driven in the Valley see if I can find the link.
Honestly cost wise unless your going into the Mod class it's pointless. Or you have tons of fabrication skills and the tools and the money for a pump.

Because he wants too. Because he runs the mod class. And to make you ask why. Why does any gearhead do what we do, well cause we are not all there. I think it would be awesome to build something that not everybody could do.

The common rail system, at this time, with components available now, will not perform on this level. This engine will make around 2200-2500 HP and turn as much as 7k RPM

The rules state that our engines can be no larger than 460 cubic engines, and the block must be from a 1 ton or less pickup truck or a dimensionally identical aftermarket replacement. It has to accept and swing a stock crank.
We are at this time planning on using stock block and head castings.

That is one sick looking Dmax!!!
I love how that guy with the Massey was too cheap to buy a full bore manifold for the drivers side.

That is bad ass. Do you have a goal for when you want it to debut? Or just working on it when you can? Sorry if I missed that.

I'd "like" to have it done for TS in May, but it's not going to happen. I'm having a terrible time getting parts, and we've been busy with work.
