My response is only for 12valve trucks. I don't know how/where on the CR's.

Yes sir. From the aero pump into the injection pump, out of the IP and into the forward side of the efi reg, block off all of the other port and run return out the bottom. only hold up for me right now is the bonjos I want to run into the Injection pump.. I'm too lazy to order them. And how to run my fuel pump. In tank, out of tank, no prefilter, filter water seperator.

I have a setup i'd like to build that will be configured like a FASS or airdog but I can't pop for the fittings and tube nuts right now.

think you are gonna plumb the reg backwards if ya do it like that

pressure goes in the bottom, return is outta the sides

least thats how my aero reg is

i am not gonna run a h2o sep, just a huge azz 2 micron filter

I have a slightly different one then. The printed instructions and the PDF both show the fuel supply feeding into the sides and return out the bottom.

Got a CAT 2 micron just a little over 12 inches tall already on a filter base ready to be plumbed up.

The water sep i'm up in the air about. I ca't find the micron spec on the ones (donaldson) I have available to me, or i'm not familiar enough with the catalogue to find it.

over 12" tall?

lol

where in the heck are you going to mount that?

i was worried about ground clearance with mine and its only like 9" tall

Click the image to open in full size.

tucked it behind the crossmember for protection

still exposed some

your gonna have a heck of a time if yours is over 12" tall

don

oh, and micron dont matter for h2o sep. would prolly work if it didnt even have a screen in it, as long as there is a drain. my filter will seperate the water too, just dont have a drain in the bottom of it. living in so cal i have never had a problem with water in the fuel

The reason you have clearance problems is because you mounted it under the cab from the looks of things. If you would have mounted it outside of the frame rail under the bed there is plenty of room for tall filters.

first of all i dont have clearance problems - this is a drw tow vehicle

secondly i believe its best to keep all the lines as short as possible. you lose pressure with every inch the fuel has to travel. wont be a problem with this system, gonna put a sump in the tank and that little 150 pump is gonna think its a 200. as you saw i plugged off the internal bypass (regulator) that creates air in the fuel with it ran like this i can prolly get away with only -6 (3/8") fuel lines from the filter to the motor. gonna go -8 outta the tank, thru the pump and filter then -6 to the motor. then -6 outta the ip to the reg, and a -8 return to tank. still have not decided if i am going to run the inj return into the back side of the reg or back to the tank by itself

I had planned to mount mine to the bed ex-framerail.

The Micron rating of the H2O sep concerned me because of the restriction it would present to the pump inlet.

i was thinking about putting one of these before my pump:

Click the image to open in full size.

its got a 100 micron screen that will flow 200 gph at 7 psi

dont know what it will flow with nothin other than the weight of the fuel pushing the thru it but i am sure it would be fine for what i am doing

i just dont want to have to pull over and take the pump apart cuz a pc of crud got wedged in the gear

what does your reg look like?

anything like this:

(its upside down in the pic)

Man you've got some money piled into that box

My reg is this sexy little piece here. Overkill I know. Also running a pro- marine pump instead of the normal A-1000 http://www.aeromotiveinc.com/products.php?prod=9

nothin wrong with that

the box of parts is mostly stuff i had layin around

have a bunch of -6 and -8 hose so what the heck

trying to use stuff i already have instead of buying more

that reg got expensive - man - used to be a $70 part

you can spend 200 on them now

have you seen aeromotives fuel filter shut off valve?

i went to home depot and got a ball valve for 4 bucks, planned on using that and the jeggy 100m stainless as a prefilter but now that i have seen that aeromotive unit i am rethinkin it

http://www.aeromotiveinc.com/feature12331.php

would be really nice but cant justify the cost

Why would you put the water separator on the suction side of the pump?

EVERY fuel system should have some sort of filtration screen before the pump(s). That's what the 100 micron stainless steel mesh screen filters are for. They will stop the big chunks from going through the pump and the fine filter(s) and fuel separators after the pump will take care of all the little crud in the fuel.

isnt that the way air dog does it?

i think it pulls the fuel thru the sep (to take out any big chunks) (chunks that would stop the pump) and then pushes thru the fine filter

thats the way i am setting mine up 100m pre and 2m post

Click the image to open in full size.

still waiting on my sump for the tank but i have started plumbing it

dont know if i have enough rems to do the whole thing in steel braid but will try to go from tank to ip with them

the return might end up push lock

what about a vent?

was thinking about using the old supply for the return and the old return for a vent

maybe run it up to a high point and put a mini k&n on the end of the hose?

I dunno. I've never bothered to look at how Air Dogs are set up. I've got an 85 micron 5/8 JIC screen filter for my prefilter and then the standard 2 micron spin on filter after the pump too.

you know what would be nice?

if hellman could incorporate a 100m screen into the sump

i got a pro stock buddy that manuf stainless screen oil filters

i will email him the sump dimensions and see what he can do about making a filter for the sump

only downfall would be if you did get some dirty fuel (real dirty) and the bottom portion of the screen got plugged up

would have to drop the tank to clean out the screen

bad idea?

i guess if you got that dirty of fuel you would have to drop the tank anyways, wouldnt ya?

that aeromotive pc sure looks nice...

lol
