airdog pressure question

Ok so I just recently bought a airdog 200 for my 12v project, now I received one for a 98.5-03. I know the old style had internal springs for pressure, but with the new adjustable style does anyone know how high you can adjust the pressure? Will I be able to get say 45psi out of it for ppump pressure needs. I just need the pump for the project that's why im not really worried about anything else being different.

Yes you can. I've seen them turned up to around 70psi but they didn't last long like that. I had an original airdog 150 with the springs for about 6 years and it just crapped out on me. I'm in the process of putting an A1000 with external regulator instead of getting another airdog setup.

Just saw you said it was for a 98.5-03, it should come preset around 15 psi but I don't know if the spring under the adjuster is different between the models for p pumps to VP trucks. If that's the case you'd just have to get the other spring but they're easy to change.

Thanks for the input!

Does anyone have a 98.5-03 pump that can say for sure on how much psi you can get out of them? if its me having to change springs this and that ill just make them swap it out for what i actually ordered. But I figured if its just a turn with a screw driver then ill just keep it and save the trouble.

I bought a pump set to VE pump pressures (about 13psi) and called AirDog to ask about bumping up the pressure for my Ppump swap. They sent me a different spring to put in the regulator. When I pulled the old spring out and compared the two I swear they were one in the same. I coil bound each between my fingers and released them back to normal quite a few times and determined I had been ripped off for $3. But I still put the new spring in

I think you are better off all the way around to send it back for a refund. FASS will serve you better for the long haul.

Yes I believe you can get different springs, or modify your existing spring to achieve the pressures you want. The pump still won't live long.

The motors are different between the 98.5-03 and the 94-98, 3k rpm and 4500 rpm. They also have different spring setups on the regulator. One uses a dual spring setup and the other uses a single spring. The most you will get out of the model you have is 22-25 psi. Call Airdog or the dealer you bought it through and exchange it out.
