This isn't directly at anyone specifically, but it seems like a lot of people just throw numbers and claims about products like this without any specifics. I understand sometimes that all we have to reference are those generic numbers someone got, but few in the diesel world even include @ xxx rpm. Even more rare is seeing the dyno curves or 1/4 before/after.
For instance Pure Diesel Power claims the Steed Speed is worth 30hp over a 3 piece manifold. 30hp at what RPM? In what application, the owners pulling truck? Did it lose any torque, what about spool up, area under the curve, EGT's? If it's even with a 3 piece until 3400rpm and loses area under the curve from 1500-2500, I think that'd be important to note. I tow and area under the curve matters to me, so does EGT and spool up. I suppose this is a worthless rant, but if the diesel aftermarket was my living I'd have everything documented and available, especially if my product claims to clean everyone elses' clocks.
I understand there are people who spend alot of money finding their own results, but I guess my beef is the fact that few people want to get into the meat and potatoes of WHY something is better rather than just saying "it's better" and selling stuff.
Gotta go, time for me to change my tampon...
