I hear ya George. But I think I will keep the 3B for a while. Never know when it might want a try at hanging below this new one.

No problem Edge, like I said these are brank spanking new and I happened to make the phone call to HTT at the right time. Like I said, I wanted what you have.

The stainless is supposed to deal with the heat better. Many that have pushed these things hard actually form cracks in the exhaust housing. The stainless is supposed to be more tolerant to heat, and it is supposed to help spool by retaining heat better. Also the housing can be thinner I believe, which enables the bigger wheel in the smaller housing.

Doesn't look any different that a HT71 really. You can tell the housing is stainless where it's machined for the downpipe. Highly polished.

This is a brand new turbo from HTT. I got the first one.

Keep in mind this is a street truck so I am expecting street manners out of it. So far, I am in love with it. Spool is good. Temps are realistic for the power/size. Yes I can exceed 1400 degrees at full throttle but in daily driving temps are great and even with moderate fuel, it doesn't exceed 1100 degrees.

My setup currently is 370's and this turbo. No cut deliveries. My timing is also conservative at 16 degrees. With a bit more tuning, I know I could reduce EGT's and increase HP to the 500hp level, but don't know if I will go there. This truck hasn't driven this good in a long time.
I wish I knew ya'll were playing because I left someone a message around this time that I was at Lowe's just down the street and had something I wanted to drop off at the shop.......but I see how it is......

I don't forgive and I never forget...

J/K

Congrats!

I'm ready to talk paint just call.

Once it's painted be ready to sell though because these 2007.5 motors aren't doing anything for me...

David:

Hey buddy, I was surprised to see your post saying you had gone back to a single on your 12 valve! One thing you can do later if you want to is run that new charger on the TOP for a nice set of twins! I sure like that Schwitzer 62 on my twin set-up alot more than the Holset HX-40/16 I had there before!

Here's what I got from HTT when I talked to them the other day. The new S.S. housing will be upgradeable on the 71 series and the htb2 series. The housing are 13cm and ~16cm. The WG hole is almost 100% larger than the original htb2 series and the WG opens further. To allow the WG to open further they had to dimple the plate behind the WG. This new WG set up should eliminate the need for external WG because of how much it flows. The price will be ~200 more.
