Shut off solenoid????
I'm having a very common problem with the shut off solenoid, it quit working. Has anyone ever put it on a pull cable or anything similar? I've thought about an old choke cable but really not sure how to go about doing this. Any help is appreciated and pictures are welcome! Thank!

I had a pull cable on mine, until I got in a wreck, and was a little stunned and couldn't figure out how to shutoff the motor for a few seconds. coulda been bad, hole in oilpan meant I almost Ko'ed my motor too. put a proper shutoff on it after that. way better now.

Have you checked the relays and wiring? These things are pretty tough. Mines 21 years and 500K old and still kicking.

Fuseable link wire at the battery if it will hold but not pull... I've had a few wear that wire out.

Check or replace the relay on the fire wall by the master cylinder.

If its not holding, check your fuses on the side of the dash. Do a voltage check at the plug. Does it pull it up when cranking?

choke cable
I had the same problems , after fixing everything and loosing a second one I just did the cable, it works great and I like that I can leave the truck running and lock the doors while I run in the store or whatever. If someone did get in they couldn't drive off as the steering's locked and wont go in gear, plus it make's a easy anti theft device, lol.. But if I was going to do one again I'd get a Larry B's, stronger and more heavy duty than stock or Chinese . my

I have a pull cable on mine, not a daily driver but works. It's a heavy duty cut to fit push pull cable from an implement dealer.

I run a cable on mine. All I used was a PTO cable I purchased from a truck an trailer store. Just ran it through the fire wall, cut to length an then used a cable stop on the end so it pulled the lever. Mounted mine on the bottom of the dash with a bracket the cable came with. Easily reachable an worked like a charm no issues, an always pulled itself back after I let go so no worries of running the truck with the shutoff slightly applied.

I kept having relay issues with mine and the Napa 70 dollar replacement really only lasted a few months... I've had a pull cable for 2 plus years now
