Fleece cheetah turbo EGT’s

Wondering what kind of EGT’s people are seeing with this turbo, had mine on for about a week and towed my bass boat in the mountains of western Maryland and was seeing 1250-1300* running 75mph up the hills. Before with the stock turbo I was only seeing a max of 1200*. Other than EGT’s turbo has been great responds like stock but pulls way harder. I just don’t understand why it’s running hotter and was curious if anyone else has had the same experience?

I have a Cheetah on my 14 truck.

Unfortunately I do not have an EGT gauge.

My opinion is that your tuning should be updated. The Cheetah compressor wheel does flow more than stock so the fuelling is being cleaned up better than it was with the stock charger. My opinion is that the timing and pulse width should be updated for the Cheetah.

Definitely update the tuning and double check all charge air connections. Our 63x64 he351ve and he300vg units see this quite often on the newer trucks. The vane position will be different. Sounds like the vanes are closing more than they need to so it can achieve the turbo speed and or boost the tune wants for the given conditions.

Well updated tune didn’t seem to help anything. It seems about the same as before. Anyone on here have this turbo and let me know what kind of affect it made on EGT’s?

Update, had CTT send me another update, still no better. I decided to pressure test my charge air system for leaks to make sure I don’t have a leak that I just can’t hear. Ended up finding out I had a small pin hole leak in the charge air cooler where it looked like it just was not welded all the way from the factory. So I welded that shut. Rechecked it for a leak, no more leaks. Drove it again today and still running hot, still slow to build boost and Smokey down low. Exhaust brake works properly so I’m not sure what is the problem.

Has CTT requested any data?

I would expect that RPM, Actual Torque, Main Injection on time, Rail Pressure, VGT Desired Position and VGT Actual Position would help shed some light on what's going on.
