6.7L Stacking Tuners?
I bought my 2013 6.7/Aisin truck liberated. I was told by the previous owner it had a "hard flash" 40hp tow liberation tune from Texas shop, but I can't verify that.
I am looking for a little extra power while towing and some more pep when driving empty. The 35's noticeably zapped some power and I've got 37's to install next. Spending $1200+ on EFIlive tunes for a relatively stock truck that has already been liberated seems wasteful, not to mention with the current climate I've already been turned away by more than one shop.
How much of a risk would I be taking if I bought a harness/box/module setup and ran it on one of the lower settings? I'm talking things like a TS Stryker, Stealth Module and Edge. I see some going for $200-300 locally used.
Am I going to have timing and/or headgasket issues? Can I use a monitor gauge to watch timing, pressures, and EGTs?

If you can find somebody who will let you borrow there ezlynk im sure somebody on here can set you up with what you need. Cost for a single tune wont be anywhere near 1200.

How does EZlynk work? That's the phone one right?
I like that the Edge would give me a monitor, but I don't want to be reckless with my motor either. Edge had a bad reputation for a while on older stuff didn't they?

has an obd module, but you control the file download and flash functions thru your phone.
They do not vin lock, that is why he was suggesting borrow one from someone, pick a tuner and buy a single file.

Dont waste your time on boxed modules for these trucks. EZ Lynk tuning is where its at. CTT Performance is what we've had the best luck with. You can flash over existing files so no need to tune back to stock or anything.

What’s your diff ratio? Going to 37, a gear change would be a better investment imo.

Thanks guys, maybe I need to make more calls. Got turned down by another shop today.
I have 3.42's, which I like for how much highway driving we do, but I can't disagree that it would help. I sorta didn't want to go that route, I wanted to power through gearing like I did on my 12v with 3.54's. I've got a powerstroke buddy and his effective ratio with 37's and 3.55's isn't far off where I would be and he just powers through. Maybe I'm chasing a ghost with my expectations.

Is his trans geared like yours though?
I’m not familiar with aisin gearing compared to the 68 I’ve got. But I have 3.42 on factory rubber. I’m even considering going to at least 3.73. But if the aisin is similarly geared as the 68, and I was you, I’d probably think hard about 4.10 minimum. I haven’t swapped gears yet because I do lots of empty driving.
You’ll get way more power feel and response from gear changing then a new tune. And your driveline will thank you for it. I’ve read the aisin don’t like much power over stock.

Is the trans gearing for the Aisin the same for 3500/4500? My brother has a 4500 and that thing shifts from 1-2 pretty quick even when loaded

The AS69RC are all geared the same I believe.
I think his 1st gear is a little steeper. Regardless 37's are on the way. Once they are on I will reevaluate.

The 4500 probably has 4.10 or 4.33 gears and you are running 3.42's
