2’nd gen Ram cab/bed on 3’rd gen frame running gear

Have somebody ever installed the 2nd gen Ram cab and bed to 3rd gen frame?

The 4wd or 2wd does not matter, the most important thing is how it fits and how close the cab brakets are on frame.

I haven't seen any that have tried. What's the thought process behind a body swap to get an older title?

I have few 2 gen quad cabs and beds, 3rd gen 2wd frame with running gear

I think with 3rd gen running gear I will get better riding handling and lower setup then 2 gen original 4wd frame and axles

According to my measurement the 3rd gen frame is 4 inch wider and the rear quad cab mounting holes will be at top of the frame ..... not at the sida as they should be....

I like the frame on the 3rd gens better than the 2nd gen for strength and stability. I would guess that no one has done it because the cabs are nicer in the 3rd gen. Why not find something unique to set on it like an old 2.5 ton truck cab or something that's easy to find in Estonia?

Just a thought, but if the rear cab mounts are directly above the frame, you could just do something like a nutsert into the frame to bolt to.

I've read several instances of frame rot on the 3rd Gens in the Great White North.

No matter what, you are still on a dodge chassis. 2nd or 3rd gen, not entirely impressive compared to the competition in those year models. Which is why a Cummins swapped ford is popular.

The 3rd gen frame rot I will believe 100%. I washed out the frame rails on my 3rd gen a few years ago and squirted oil inside them. It’s a southern truck, but still concerning.
