She's an ok old broad, we get along fine. Dr said that most people that have the type of heart attach she had never make it to the hospital. She's got a balloon in right now and needs a double, maybe triple bypass.
Next race is in Porter, Ok on may the 12th at 6pm. Souls have the delivery valves and injectors in by then

Injectors and delivery valves are in my possession, I'll get the truck unloaded next week and get them installed and then begin playing with the fuel plate to see if I can find the sweet spot

Well, it's been a hell of a nerve wracking time for a little over a week. The mil had 3 bypasses done thurs, and then wouldn't come around after the surgery. Then finally yesterday she started coming out of it and was moved out of the intensive care unit. She looks like somebody beat the crap out of her, but she is moving towards recovery now.
I took the broke gopro back today, so I should be recording Incan this weekend at the porter, ok race. It starts at 6, pm me if you need directions.
Tonight, I'm unloading the truck and installing the dvs and injectors, will start testing it tomorrow night.

Thanks, they are discharging her tomorrow, we think she had a stroke too, so it's going to be an uphill battle.
I did get the injectors and dvs installed last night and the lines bled where the truck will start. I need to raise the idle up some, as now it idles around 750 rpm. Will hopefully get to test the truck tonight or tomorrow night

Back to mud racing.
Had a race in Porter, OK last night. I didn't do as well as I wanted too, but I had crappy draws in both class 2 and class 3, I ran first in both. Not where you want to run. In class 2, I didn't make it through in either of my passes.
Since I went first, I'm allowed to run again after the second truck makes a pass. The truck ran good, I hit third in all 3 passes and was hitting about 55lbs of boost on the gauge, with the pyro pegged. I need to move the fuel plate back some with the new injectors and delivery valves in.
I hit a deep hole on my first two passes and didn't make it out. There were alot of trucks in class 2 and 3 that didn't make it through that hole.
I managed to get 4th in the class though for class 2. On my class 3 run, I hugged the right wall as best as I could and made a full timed pass, but flattened both front tires in the effort.
I also managed to fill up my ice box a little too much and it swelled up pretty good. Going to have to see what I can do to straighten it back out before the next race.
I forgot to turn on the go pro in the cab for the first run, and after that, the windshield was so covered in mud, it wouldn't have done any good after that, so I don't have any in cab video. The second run in class 2 was done pretty much blind, I couldn't see out the windshield or side windows at all. I managed to get the front windshield cleaned better for the class 3 run though.
All three launches were at 20psi off the trans brake.
We managed to get the front tires aired back up to get it loaded last night, we used the sticky mud to pack into the beeds, jacked one side up at a time, hit it with an air tank and held the tire on the bead until it took air, then put my little pump on it to get it aired on up, the other tire, we jacked it up, put the remaining air from the tank into it and then finished getting it aired up with my little pump. Both tires are still up this morning.
The truck is just a little muddy after 3 runs last night:
here is my first class 2 run:

Looked good. It does not seem like your hitting 3rd converter locked. In every video it appeared to me it was 2nd

It's a th400, no lockup converter. It's hitting 3rd, I can tell that driving. 2nd gear is 1.48 to 1 and 3rd gear is 1.00 to 1, it's not a very audible difference when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd. Off the line, I'm hamming the shifter 1, 2, 3 to get it into 3rd gear and the wheel speed as fast as I can get before i hit the deep stuff.

Gotcha. I would think locking the converter would make huge difference. Your trans temp would certainly be lower as well

Very impressive to say the least!!!
It looks like it has plenty of power for more wheel speed. Might be time to change your gear ratio's if you can't go lower stall on the converter.
You could try running hydraulic fluid in the tranny instead of ATF, that by itself will lower the converter stall some.

I'm already running hydraulic fluid in the Trans and the tightest converter I could get made.
Right now we've seen a problem when I line up that with the wheels I switched too, I'm wider than all the other trucks, which is causing me to move all over the pit as I go in and out of the tracks. I'm moving to a set of 16x7 with 4" back spacing on the front and 16x8 with a 4.5 back spacing in the rear to better line the wheels up. I'm going to get the wheels ordered this week.
I don't plan on changing gears this year as I'd have to go to 4.56 or along those lines and run in high range to get more wheel speed and that would mean new carriers and lockers as well.

Shoot, you might as well try a run in high range one of these trips out. It might have plenty of power in a loose pit to pull 2nd or 3rd gear in high range!!!!

right now I need to solve the steering issue with the truck going all over the place in the pit. Every run, I've bounced off the walls at one point or another and seem to have to fight the steering. Didn't have that problem last year. So I need to get some wheels ordered for it this week and get them swapped out.
I did try a hi run last race of the season last year and smoked some clutches in the trans when I did it. Don't know if that was because of the missing thrust bearing in the trans or inadequate cooling or what. I need to check the trans fluid to see what the state of it is now after I've run the truck through a couple of pits.
I do have to say, it's a blast to launch into the pits at 20lbs of boost. My dad rode with me during my class 2 runs last weekend and he had a blast. Couldn't believe how hard the truck was launching.

We finally had another race yesterday in Cedar Vale, KS. This was the makeup race from a month ago that was rained out. I ran for points in classes 2 and 3 as usual. I did remember to turn on the go pro for both runs, so I have video of that too. I went second in Class 2 and finally got a 1st place finish after 2 seasons of running the truck. I left at 20psi of boost on the trans brake and shifted 1/2/3 right off the line. The truck ran great.
In class 3, I was glad I ran 9th, because they added more water and reworked the pit before this class started, so it was getting cleaned out by the time I ran. I placed 2nd in Class 3.
Before the race, I adjusted the fuel plate back a 1/4 of an inch from full fuel and it seemed to run very well there.
Here are the videos for the class 2 run:
http://youtu.be/3PD9XDT5yt4
http://youtu.be/VrFIFJi_Ur0
Here are my class 3 run videos:
http://youtu.be/O0KH6_F5M5U
http://youtu.be/S8yefyy01TU
the race next weekend was cancelled because they couldn't get insurance at a decent cost.
So the next race will be in two weeks in Howard, KS.
Oh, here is a video of a rollover that happened yesterday:

I have no experience with actual "racing" in the mud....
...but wouldn't it be better to make a bumper that is more like the bow of a John boat...instead of one that looks like a snow plow?
...i would think it would be better to go over the mud, and not have the resistance of the plow bumper trying to push through it....
