AEV Ram Snorkel thing-a-ma-jigger.

Anyone running one of these retarded ass looking things? I just saw a truck next door at the store with one. Just wondered what the inside of the engine compartment looks like. I can see the merit to getting colder air but dang they look dumb.

Discuss.

I think it might be kinda neat if it was just the fitted fender pod that grabbed air and forced it into the filter housing.......but that riser just looks goofy.

It probably don't breath worth a toss at highway speeds either. That passenger side A-piller can hide a semi in the blind spot, it doesn't need anymore crap on it.

I've thought several times about how to shove air into the filter box from outside the engine compartment. I've never seen a system that I liked or that actually worked efficiently short of putting a huge vent in the hood or losing a headlight.

The point is not cold air. The point is to avoid water when off roading.

If the water is that high....they have more to worry about than having it in the intake.

So CliqueD has decided snorkels are stupid because they look goofy?

Seems like it'd be pretty good to have next time you're in water up to your hood.

Granted, whoever does that type of thing with anything other than a stripped-out glorified dune-buggy I don't know. (Short of hurricanes.)

Yes, I'm sure it's not for water.

I was just curious what it looked like under the hood...I can't find any pictures of it.

Haven't seen you post in a while.

The pillars on these 3rd gens is bad enough as they were. I almost probably killed someone pulling out of work one day. Looked both ways twice....and never saw them. I lean forward and backwards every time I leave this parking lot now. I bet you couldn't have slide a piece of paper between the front of my truck and a 60 mph vehicle. Scared the schidt out of me.
