Cummins Satellite
Finally took the Satellite to the track
Never had so much fun
Going so Slow.....lol
This is an ALL stock set up
It leaves quicker than I thought it would
started at 5 lbs boost
fourth run
finally figured out the lights
and how deep to stage
> VERY different from the White Dart
Now That I got a base # to work with
Time to crank it up...lol
I know I have the WRONG rear gear, plans are to change the gearing
I hit the governor, at 2/3 track
crank up the pump, change the valve springs and gov spring.

Thats freaking awesome. Which 12v is it? PPump or VE pump? That thing really sticks its ass in the air while at the line.

I guess my other thread timed out/locked ???
so I started this one
I want to add to the original post
http://www.competitiondiesel.com/for...d.php?t=188111
anyway
It's a ve pump
yea, I noticed she was showing her ass
gonna have to strap her down> add leafs
I'm coming from the gas engine world,
learning about the diesels
so, if anyone has suggestion for improvement , I'm all ears

On the other side of the spectrum (fuel mileage), I know of a '69 Sport Satellite Wagon with a Getrag 360, pulling early 30s MPG with a 4bt.
It gets out of it's own way very well, too.
Mark.

Add a quick change rear end, and I don't know if I could ask for anything else.
It's awesome!

I think I had about 4 turns on mine before it started to run away, but every motor is different, so keep a clipboard handy...that was worth about 70hp, then timing is another 30-40hp, so you have a long ways to go even for free. C12H26 went high 11's with a ton of spray basically for free in his 1st gen, so you should at least be able to swing that if nitrous is ok.

Thanks' for the info
am changing the gear
removing the collar, for the power screw,
and advancing the timing
I did jump a tooth , while doing the KDP
but had set the pump back to stock time.
also have 12- 60lbs springs, and a 3800 gov spring
Was reading, that it might be a good idea to replace the retainers and keepers too ??????
Here's the very first pass ( first time for my camera guy too)

If that is the factory air box you'll probably want to drill a bunch of holes in it to get more flow

Thanks,
Yes, once I see how to secure it to the fender
I'll make "Swiss cheese" out of the box
got late to do anymore.

Nice project.
Try the 4200 gov spring.
Pay attention to pinion angle. Start 6 down.
Get a trans brake.
