Delete Kit – Things to Watch For When Installing a Delete Kit

When you install an EGR Delete Kit, you want to make sure that you do the job properly and use quality parts. If you own a Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, Excursion or Econoline, then the chances are very good that you will be able to find the perfect kit that will fit your 2003 to 2007 vehicle. You will need a kit that fits your 6.0 liter diesel engine and is made from quality components. The EGR Delete Kit, FDD1, will fit any model of vehicle that falls within these guidelines and it will create a sealed system for the highest quality results. Each unit is comprehensively tested for leaks, is made in the United States and completely replaces the EGR valve and EGR cooler.

As you start the installation of the EGR Delete Kit, there are a few things that you will need to keep in mind for safety and proper installation. As a precaution, you should always drain the coolant in the engine and disconnect the batteries before you get started. When you drain the coolant, be sure that all of the coolant is removed to prevent any from getting into the rest of your exhaust and all over your hands. Taking these simple safety precautions will help you to get the job done safely and quickly. You should also make sure that you have all of the proper tools necessary to get the job done. Check with the product manufacturer to make certain that you have all of the proper tools.

Avoid removing items without first making sure that all of the hoses and attachments are loosened. You could do damage to some of the belts, tubes and hoses in your engine if you do not loosen the clamps first and make sure all of the mounts are loosened as well. In some cases, you will only need to loosen a hose to get at the turbo charger in your engine. Always check the instructions for removal to avoid taking apart more of your engine than you may need to. Paying attention to this process will make reconstruction easier.

Installing the EGR Delete Kit is a two-person job. There are several parts to attend to and several heavy components to remove. Make sure that you have someone available to help you that has an understanding of auto mechanics and will be able to help you do the best job possible.

Ive seen it done in two hours, 10-12 for a first time and not being in any kind of rush sounds about right.
