hrvp finally dead pedaled

I'd bet it is if you're not getting anything back from it. These VP trucks do weird things if they don't see their boost lol.

Curious, when you install the map sensor, are you using any teflon tape or anything on the threads? Or just screwing it into the port metal to metal?
 
soooooo tonight I am gonna try the map sensor. 150 bucks...really..wtf.....if that don't so it then the ecm..nothing else left.
been too busy and exhausted to work on it..need the pos.
they will return the pump for 15% restocking fee so as soon as I get it fixed I get to change the pump back to the hrvp I started with.
im over it...all this and still cant drive it

the map sensor seems to have 90% of the problem solved. cannot find the ticking noise. ran it without the valve cover. its not there. maybe the new vp idk.
trucks making 30 psi boost now..little smoke..actually squeaked the tires on a wet road.
I risk to say its as a stock truck now? no codes. I did clear the jtec companion code twice but it seems to be gone.
soooooo...im going to put the hrvp back on. if it stays good I will return the replacement SO pump. for a 15% restocking fee its my best option.
having 2 bad map sensors really screwed me up til I did the wiring test. but I had already done the pump by then so it really didn't hurt me that bad
 
Glad you got it done.

Used electrical parts have bit me in the as$ several times. I go straight for a new part now.
 
I've never been blessed with a "hot" truck, so I wouldn't know the difference.
As long as it pulls a 14k trailer through the Rocky Mountains at 50mph and stays cool, I'm tickled.

well at one time it ran a 13.90...detuned it was still a good runner. with the same inj in it now and the hrvp it would've killed this thing in a race..i mean killed it...
 
off/on/off/on since the 4th..if the old pump doesn't throw any codes then itll stay and ill get my 1200 back for the one I bought. thanks dieselstore....if it codes then ill be putting this one back one....im getting good at it now..had it off in an hr

map sensor seemed to be the root of it all....idk bout all the original codes..wish I could find that paper...but fuel circuit voltage and all kinds of strange schidt..high voltage map..low voltage map....overboost....ecm not linked code....236/215/216/238

been a task ..I hope the old pump is good this truck is a pig with the SO pump..
 
I hear ya', power corrupts.
I bought and drove home a Commonrail truck the other night, which has a tuner and some other goodies on it.
It was a whole new driving experience.

yeah I rode in my buddies truck and I told him I couldn't believe the diff...after I put the SO on mine I cant drive it like that..i just cant

I completely understand how you feel. After I changed to an SO pump, I am finding it very difficult to find the balance running the comp drag box on different settings to get the power back without fogging a few blocks. After about 1800 rpms, it seems to clean up a very little bit while easing on the loud pedal. But on full on kill, it does have power, just takes forever and never actually does clean up the skeeter fog. I am still contemplating adding a turbo for decent set of tow twins and making a cleaner running pig.
 
sooooooooooooooo I got home tonite and took the new so pump off..cuz it sucked . no codes all is well

put my hrvp back on..the one that I thought was bad for 2 weeks til I changed the map sensor. well I forgot the brkt on the btm so I had to take it back off. at least the inj lines weren't on yet,,,dammit

truck started right up and settled into a reg lope...that it didn't have before...for about 15 mins..then cleared up.

shut it off checked for codes..no codes..all is well..im a happy mofo at this point....nothing leaking..915..test ride!

man its the old truck..even my son was shotgun saying..''yup..feels good again dad!'' smooooooooth and made 30 psi boost without even getting on it!

pull it into the barn..nothing leaking ...no codes...

930 got a shower poured myself a crown on the rocks and I feel like a load of bricks is off my ass...no long term trip yet but im thinkin its all good..

god dang f'n map sensor threw every friggin code it could come up with...unreal these friggin trucks

btw..dieselstore is chargin me 15% RESTOCK Which I think is fair so thanks cuz eatingthat pump would've sucked balls

so ten iles ino my day today the pos goes into limp mode again..high voltage map sensor..
checked it when I finally got home..5.02 going in...varies with boost on the green signal wire...
the ecm must be bad ..t

his fn pos is costing me money..cant haul with it broken down for 3 f/n weeks dammit.

im gonna order an ecm..dammit im so sick of this f/n **** im ready to torch it
