Diesel Pro's Thumper Series

I came home after a long day at work and I spied a package by my front door. It was from Diesel Pro's !

Finally my Thumper Series Cam has come in!

I qwickly went to the garage and carefully opened the package. I carefully cut open the box and pulled a nicely protected tube out of the box. Then I carefully cut open the cap on the end of this tube. I peered inside and was even more suprised to find careful protection of the contents inside. I carefully pulled out the camshaft from it protective packaging and was pleased to find a well coated camshaft. The machine work was impeccable as well.

I now have to measure piston protrusion as this Thumper is not a drop in cam. Diesel Pro's offers drop in cams where no clearancing is needed but I wanted a cam with more.

Thanks Diesel Pro's- the care in the protection of the cam during shipping was awesome. I can't wait to post results of this camshaft.

After many years of quiet development- the Thumper Series is here!

This cam is not a standard "drop in" camshaft. It is a race cam. This one is going in a built 24Valve engine with a big built P-pump a wild ported 24Valve/O-ringed cylinder head, custom Industrial Injection Twins....ect ect. This engine is going in front of a full billet Suncoast trans with 5 disc Pro Loc Race Converter.

This cam includes a special gear retainment package that ensures the cam gear from staying where it should without walking.

This same style camshaft has been extensively tested in built race engines with wild 13mm P-pumps and thrashed at the track with proven times.

My next cam is another Diesel Pro's Custom Thumper Series for a built Common Rail Engine. This should be at my door within a few days.

So is this cam Billet, new cast, or regrind? Kinda thinking about getting one from them since I have heard good things about them.

What type of lifters(tappets) are recommended for 12v application?

Stock 12V, 24v or CR tappets ?

I have heard CR tappets will contact with mechaical cam lobe? Is this info true?

I heard that too. You have to have a 24v cam for them to work.
