New Facebook page idea

To all my diesel friends...
I know there is a diesel drag race page already. However, I stopped following it when the smoke spewing, chain tugging, general stupidity that was posted... And posted again... and posted again.
Now my question is: Would you enjoy a page, not group, where is focused on rails, altereds, PS, SS, index, and events? The event I am thinking of attending I can give semi live play by plays. This year will be a slow one due to the kiddo coming. I hope next year (2016) I can attend half a dozen big events. Most notably the ODSS races at TS, Scheid, Indy and maybe one of Rudy's. I will also hit up Dyno 4 Dex and maybe NHRDA in St. Louis in 2016
Things I am thinking of supplying for content:
Races (duh)
Builds
People who do the racing
Lots of pictures
Videos
User submitted content
Maybe part suppliers
Post is public so you can tag people and I want feedback.

This is something I am throwing out there. I appreciate feedback. It would be nice having 1 central location to find out people times.

Howling suggested more of a diesel event coverage than a more specific drag racing page.

What are your thoughts?

For new guys...

A large part of the idea was to entice guys who are liking all the smoke rolling, chain hooking, brand bashing Facebook pages.

Hopefully show some guys the legitimate, responsible, competitive side of things, and therefore help them come over to CompD and become somewhat respectable members of the community.

Of course. This was to see who liked the idea. I plan on talking to people and the people following it.

Here is the problem with that. Social media is huge. Much bigger than CompD. Yet there are areas where CompD lacks. People were enjoying the "live" postings in the 2013 Indy thread. Many hits on Instagram.

Since then, look at any thread of major events. Hardly ANYTHING until the day or 2 after. I cannot tell you how many times I would come in here hoping to see something recent.

I know a lot of the big names here are helping the big teams out. I was hoping to help generate traffic and generate interest. If the oralers can generate revenue over posting up stupid ass pics on Instagram and gather a huge following, what are we doing wrong to get more people in here?

Part of the answer is we are not reaching out to the younger and new crowd. We don't want that crowd associated with us but we sure aren't drawing in a whole lot.

I look around here and I do not see the same amount posting as when I first joined in 07. I'd say its down 300%. Used to be a new build or post every hour. Now it is nearly dead on the weekends. The biggest change has been social media. With everyone pretty much having a smartphone, it is easy to post and get a quick answer on any Facebook page. Want to see a truck or build? Search Instagram. Look at places like Dodge Cummins 12v, 3rd Gen Cummins, Cummins Forum (not related to the website). TONS of traffic. So if we can reach them, why not?

I am all for the CompD facebook page but people are finding it hard to find. It is being drowned out by these other groups we are a part of. Why? Not a lot of traffic. Not in anyway a dig, just stating how I see it.

I hope I put this up in a "matter of fact" way and not as a "this place sucks" way. This is one of my 2 homes on the internet. Only reason I have Tapatalk anymore is for this place specifically as 1stgen.org doesn't have it yet.
