New shop truck

PTPULLINCHASSIS

DEALS ON REAL WHEELS
This past spring I bought a 03 cummins 3500 4x4 5spd quad cab dually to clean up and use for our shop truck. It started off as a small project but turned into a complete frame off restoration w/a custom built steel flatbed, 20" aluminum dually wheels wrapped w/37x12.50r20 NITTO TRAIL GRAPPLERS and much more. I will post pictures of the build as I get time.

Here are some pictures of the flat bed we designed and built.

Nice! Love these threads, keep up the beautiful work! I'm a welder and love seeing nice clean fabrication and beautiful welds and no bb's LOL

^ Some guys would rather die than clean their work. Your stamp is your signature, words to live by.

Flat bed is complete overkill, but it looks nice.

I'm guessing she'll weigh 10k total when done?

Thanks, I can only take credit for the setup and design of the flatbed. While I love welding I don't have the time with running the shop to do it as often as I would like. I'm very fortunate to have a young man working for me that can produce the quality of welds you see on this project.

Sweet bed nice fab work. Perfect match for my F550. Ive been running the CM beds on two of my trucks. They are light weight and cheap overall but they sure hate life with heavy weight far out on the corners and their they rust quickly. If you haven't planed already I'd invest in a good air suspension to carry that extra weight when loaded. Keep the pics and progress coming. Are you going LED's?

Yes I'm shopping for led lights now. Just trying to decide which ones to go with.

Your truck is gonna be sweet. Gotta love a good flatbed. That thing is crazy overkill...makes my Bradford Built look like a paper weight. :lolly:

These new dually wheels are 20x7.5 so with the added rim width correct offset and the 12.50 wide tire. The tires are rubbing the spring so we will be moving the spring perches inboard a 1/2" on each side.

This picture is w/2" billet spacers between the hub and inside wheel.

Here is a picture of the cab off the frame when we sanded and resealed the underside of it with epoxy/sealer primer. While the cab was off we also pulled the engine, power washed the frame and sprayed it with epoxy/sealer. Then we installed the new engine and put the cab back on the frame.
